During excavation, the backhoe broke the gas line on the property. The gas line was 6 feet away from the markings. The gas line was temporarily capped with duct tape and plastic until Puget Sound Energy arrived and capped the gas line. Meanwhile, traffic on East Helen Street was disrupted. The fire truck and the construction vehicles blogged the street. East Helen Street has become a neighborhood shortcut. It was interesting to see the bewilderment of the drivers taking the shortcut; both the fire truck and how to complete the shortcut. I enjoyed the drivers taking the shortcut through the neighborhood having difficulty and seeing the confusion on their faces.
